I just transferred my phone pics to my laptop, and when I viewed the files on my laptop, there were a lot of "unwanted images" from tumblr. The only thing that confuses me is that I've never downloaded these pictures from the tumblr app. I've only viewed them in tumblr. And they don't show up in my gallery. So where are they in my phone and how do I get rid of these pictures?
How to delete viewed (not downloaded) images from phone?

They might be cached in the tumblr folder on your sd card. Or they might be in the .thumbnails folder inside the DCIM folder on your sd card. Maybe both, but check the tumblr folder first. Don't delete anything until you find the "unwanted" pictures. And delete just those pics, and not the folder.
