On my old phone this was automatic (I think). On the Droid, it's not showing my name. How can I change this setting?

Thanks!

I'm not sure what's going on but here are two guesses:
  • You got a new number when you switched to the Droid and the people you're calling don't have it in their contacts.
  • You have caller ID blocked on outgoing calls.

no, i have the same number.

about caller ID being blocked...hmmm...that's a good question. is there a way for me to find out whether i do or don't from the droid settings? Or do i actually have to call Verizon? Thanks!

Cell phones do not broadcast a name with them unless you pay to have them listed with the land provider. Your friends need your name attached to your number(including area code) to get it to show. Otherwise just the number will show.

Did you just get the phone? Are you talking about when you call other cellphones or land lines? Land lines should show your name, but cell phones only the number unless its programmed into the phone.
