how to import contacts into groups?

so i just got the droid and i feel like this was always such a simple thing on every other phone i ever had, i feel ridiculous posting on here to figure it out but i have already gotten the chomp and handcent apps and can not figure out how to acutely import the contacts into a group or how to even make a group,.... any assistance would be appreciated,

I created all of my groups at www.google.com/contacts. Then i dl'd aContacts and it shows all my groups hope this helps
