How to keep the LCD on when charging?

On my old Droid, when the phone was plugged in on my car dock, the backlight stayed on all the time, as long as it stayed plugged in.

On my Dinc2 the only way I have found to keep the screen on is to use the navigation. Sometimes I use it for music and it is annoying to keep having to press the power button, swipe the lock screen and then change the track.

Go to settings then display. got to screen timeout and set to never

Settings --> applications --> development --> check stay awake when charging.

If you can find a way to get the car dock app to launch, that would be a more ideal way, I would think. Problem is, they don't have a shortcut/link to it anywhere that I can see, so it will only open when it's docked...which is very annoying.
