How to press home and go to last screen, not middle home?

On my old Droid if I was on the right most homescreen and I start up an app and press home it returns me to the same home screen. On the new Droid X if I do the same thing it returns me to the middle home screen.

Is there any setting or way to make this work like the old Droid? I don't want to use a 3rd party home screen manager.

You say you don't want to, but the only way I know of is to install one. Launcher Pro is fast and stable and has minimal changes to the functionality, and you can choose where you want the home button to go.

You lose all of the build in Motorola widgets that way.
