How to root a stock Thunderbolt with newest update

My girlfriend accepted the update to 1.70.650.0 with the 1.39.00.0627 radio. (Official release with new radio) she want's to root her phone at this point and I was wondering if the Downgrade RUU would flash her rom/radio back to stock settings so all is fine or if it only restores the system but not the radio. I don't want her getting the security warnings from a failed downgrade. If anyone knows what to do please let me know. I don't want her to brick her device. Let me know!

subscribed to this thread because i am wondering the same, been looking through the forums for a while to see which method i want to use....

I just rooted with the new update using the adb (2.5) method. You just have to flash the updated radio and current 1.70 rooted rom or a custom one. She shouldn't get any update warnings after that.
