How To Root Android Wear On 5.0.1

Google is beginning to roll out 5.0.1 to Android Wear devices. Last week Motorola tweeted that 5.0.1 would be rolled out to every Moto360 device. Now that you have 5.0.1 on your Android Wear device you will want to go ahead and get it rooted! The process is pretty simple you just need a few files including Android Wear SuperSU and the TWRP file for your device. You will then flash TWRP to your watch. Boot into TWRP and flash the Wear SuperSU file. Then reboot and go to SuperSU to update binaries. Head to the link below for the full instructions and the files needed.

Thanks was trying to figure out how to root my g watch. I was too busy to keep up with the latest news.

What does root allow you to do with your wearable?
This is what I'm wondering as well. It's a simple device. Are there really benefits to rooting it? I haven't even felt the need to root my phones for quite some time...

worked for me, I did have to modify the command as the su file would not push to download folder so i did the following

Code:
adb push Wear-SuperSU-v2.40.zip /sdcard

^Good to know. Thanks!

(I also enabled developer options on mine, which wasn't really necessary for me personally, but I feel better knowing it's there.)

Funny, I didn't see all the text initially, because I'm set to dark mode on Tapatalk. When I went back after seeing cr6's comments, I realized there was additional text as shown in the second pic.

I read it on the Web first, but I know exactly what you're talking about when I launched it in Tapatalk later.
