how to switch launchers?

I have a question. I have Launcher Pro installed and am currently using it. I had to uninstall SPB Shell 3D in order to switch....so it made me wonder if there is an easier way to switch launchers without having to uninstall them. I am on the leaked GB and I am finding that when I download and install a new launcher it automatically makes it the default. Is there an app that will allow for faster changes without having to uninstall them?

I already tried going into app management and clearing defaults.
