How to transfer data from PC to Droid Eris SD card?

Okay, so far when I connect my USB cable, I get no indication the SD card is accessable. The only way I can copy files from my PC to the Eris is via e-mail or by removing the micro SD and plugging it into the SD slot via an adapter.

What am I doing wrong???

Ok... I did the obvoious and read the manual... it was easy... just pressed the USB symbol on the status bar and clicked on "mount"... big DUH for me.

i have a new droid 2 and i connected my usb cable and i open the status bar, i clicked on usb connection and a drop down list showed:
PC mode
Windows Media Sync
USB mass storage (which is the one that was chosen)
charge only

i have NO mount showing...........what do i do?????
