How to wipe entire phone?

I have a Droid 2 that I want to sell to a friend. I thought removing the Sim card and SD card will help. But somehow my phone can still make calls and access internet without those things in the phone.

How is it doing this? I dont want to give this phone to my friend if it can access my account.

Please help

The sdcard is just storage and the sim card it for global gsm use. It still has the CDMA radio. To truly wipe it goto settings: privacy: factory data reset. That'll put it like its new out of the box, as far as software anyways.

end of line...

I did the factory reset. Turned the phone on, without sim card or SD card inserted, followed the onscreen instructions and it activated my phone with my account. How do I stop it from doing that?
