Android 101: How to boot your phone in safe mode

Yes, just like your computer. If an offensive app is making your life miserable or you can’t figure out what’s hanging your system, you can boot in safe mode and uninstall the likely suspects. It’s a little bit of a pain, though.

Turn off your phone, then hold down the Menu and Power/Hang Up buttons, and keep holding them through the splash screens until your phone boots. You’ll see "safe mode" in the lower left corner and none of your neat stuff like home replacements will be present.
