Finally the PC makers are getting serious about making affordable powerful tablets. Apparently, Google's jump start with the Nexus 7 in 2012 was a lesson they really needed to learn. HP just released their latest offering and it could very well be a contender for your hard earned dollars. It's the HP Slate 7 Extreme and it can now be found on HP's own retail website for $199.99. It was previously announced by unavailable on HP's website until now. Here's the specs you will get for that $200 bucks:
  • 7-inch 1,280×800 touchscreen
  • Nvidia Tegra 4 quad-core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz
  • 1 GB of RAM
  • 16 GB of internal storage space
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a 5 MP rear camera
  • VGA front camera
  • 4,100 mAh battery
As you can see, it's a pretty good bang for your buck, although it isn't really much different than the Tegra Note 7. Still, some folks are fans of HP products, so it could be worth checking out. Here's a link to do just that: HP Slate7 Extreme | HP® Official Store
