HTC Desire App problems

I've just got my HTC Desire and very pleased with it but there is a tiny problem that is becoming really frustrating now. I downloaded Ringo Lite from the market and I have set the custom ringtones and sms alerts for each of my contacts but when I power off my phone and then switch it back on, all the settings seem to be erased and I have to do it all over again.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? I thought it might be my task killer so I have uninstalled that but the problem still persists.
