HTC Droid Eris in Canada?

I have a friend ( in the U.S) who's probably going to get a new contract and phone with Verizon, and was looking to give away his old phone. I personally live in Canada, and was wondering which carriers would be compatible with the HTC Droid Eris. I'm aware it's a CDMA phone, and if I recall correctly, both Telus and Koodo have CDMA networks, but I tried getting information from Koodo, and booth person wasn't entirely clear.
