HTC One M10 Might be Branded as Simply the HTC 10 [Rumor]

It seems like it has become the usual M.O. for HTC to make silly decisions regarding their smartphone line. They have been sliding down a slippery slope into mediocrity for some time, and the latest rumor simply continues that trend. Supposedly HTC has decided on different branding for the HTC One M10, and it will simply the the HTC 10.

This rumor comes straight from Evan Blass, aka @evleaks. Besides the fact that this new name just sounds dumb, it is also a perfect example of HTC missing the point. They need to make a compelling device. Slightly tweaking the name of their flagship won't suddenly make everyone want one. We are crossing our fingers that HTC actually does come up with something intriguing and new, but we wouldn't bet the farm on it.

Blass also shared a leaked image that is supposedly the first press render for the HTC 10. You can see it above.

What do you folks think is HTC's real problem?

Well, congratulations HTC, you've made a Samsung. Moving the speakers to a single one on the bottom and putting a button on the front that looks like a Galaxy device puts an end to me buying an HTC phone... Vary disappointed!

The picture is probably a fake, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Rumored specs for the HTC 10:

5.15-inch QHD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB of RAM, a 12-megapixel camera and a USB Type-C port.

Say what you will about Samsung whether it be about them copying apple, their ugly skin, or their software. Samsung at least make an effort to change things up once in awhile. Whether it be with different features and apps or build material, you can at least see some kind of progression. The same can be said with LG, Motorola, and Huawei. But HTC just needs to get bought out. They are no longer "quietly brilliant" they are loudly obvious that they don't give a what.
