HTC Replacement

Hello! I'm new to this forum so please don't shoot me down.

I've had the HTC Thunderbolt for about a month. The first few weeks the phone had no issues. Over the last two weeks I've experienced random loss of 4G, 3G and usually the phone goes back to 1X. I've worked with Verizon and have gone thru all of their troubleshooting, including a factory reset. Yesterday Verizon decided to swap my phone out for a certified pre-owned....am I heading down the right road?

I hate the fact that I paid good money for a new phone and am swapping it out for a used phone!

Any and all comments will be greatly appreciated.

Under 14 Days - New Device
Over 14 - CLNR

Your not getting a new device over 14 days from signing the contract. certified pre-owned is the only option....

Thank you for the replies. I am curious, is a certified like new a good phone? I'm sure if I pushed I could get a new phone but I'm wondering if it's worth the battle.

Thanks again.

I would try a few.

Wife went through 3 dpro's in 2 weeks. That was enough for me.

You need to be very particular, do everything with your phone. Call text gtalk browse download tapatalk.

14 days is the policy, its not just verizon, all cell phone providers replace their phones with used phones. It is just the way it is, they have already subsidized that one phone some where around 400 dollars, if they were to give you another new one they would be out around, ohh 600 dollars for that one, so a 1000 total- all rough guesses. They would probably lose quite a bit over the 2 year contract.
The thunderbolt was having that issue with several phones, The phone itself was most likely not the issue. They should have reset the connection with the sim card through customer service, if that didn't work try a new sim card, new sim card almost always fixes it. There was a small period of time when the service was just random anyways. The network is new so you're going to get little glitches, even with the couple problems the 4g network has had, its still WAY more reliable than att's everyday network use.

Same thing with me. I must say that im upset for paying so much for my phone and babying it exceptionally and having them say well we can give u a certified pre-owned but not a new one. Kind of like a slap in the face... All we can do is hope they are in great shape :( good luck with your problems bud, also heard today that ANOTHER update releases in two weeks..

be picky...

I am fortunate in that I have a store in my area that still has a tech on site and when i have gotten CLNR's I make sure they meet my standards cosmetically and if not I won't accept it and I would do the same if they sent me one in the mail..

I baby my phones and if it needs to be replaced I won't accept anything in worse condition than the phone i swap...

and you will only get a new phone if multiple replacements have issues and generally that would be hardware issues as they are very unlikely to switch out multiple phones for "software" issues..

Thanks everyone.

I received the certified pre-owned on Tuesday. Other than the pain of personalizing the phone, there are absolutely no issues. So far so good and it looks like a new phone with the exception of a label inside the battery tray with the refurbish date.

look at this junk they sent me for a replacement... I called them right after I opened the box and they are gonna overnight me one to arrive tomorrow. :)

My phone i bought brand new had a black void sticker on it but my replavement had a green void sticker, no remanufacture date. What do u guys think that means?

I got this one in the mail today. This is to replace a replacement I got last week with a bad power button.
