[h=1]HTC Ville, The Next Generation of Smartphone[/h] Nov 09 2011 07:00 PM | Gadgetsj in Articles
Following up the news of HTC's first Tegra 3 phone, the HTC Edge, comes another device leak out of HTC. This is another next-gen device packing the top-of-the-line specs which is said to be debuting at Mobile World Congress 2012. BGR reportedly got an exclusive look at this device, and if the specs we see hold true there's some major techgasms coming next year. So what's the deal?
The device is codenamed the HTC Ville, but as with most working names we'll expect to see a new one at launch. It is said to be set for an April launch with Ice Cream Sandwich and Sense 4.0. You'll note the lack of capacative touch buttons on the device, which is a good indicator of it actually having ICS. It will feature a 4.3" qHD Super AMOLED display, and is powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm series 4 Snapdragon quad core processor. On the back you'll find HTC's new favorite 8MP backside-illuminated camera with 1080p video capture support. It's being said that it will not have NFC capability, but that's a small price to pay. It also measured just 8mm thin, has HSPA+ connectivity, and a 1,650 mAh battery. Naturally, Beats audio will be onboard, as well.
The future is certainly looking bright for the smartphone, and with specs like these we just might be sleeping off the next month. Wake us in time for CES 2012, please.
