Google has been very busy with new updates lately, and the trend doesn't stop today. Later today they plan to release a major Google+ app update that brings with a slew of improvements, bug fixes and new features. One of the primary new improvements is to photo and event features. Below is a highlight of some of the changes.
  • Instant upload now includes up to 5GB of full-sized photo backups.
  • The bandwidth efficiency of Hangouts has been improved, and only 150kbps is required to join a hangout.
  • There is now Communities support for the mobile app.
  • You can now send messages to each separate event guest, and you can see who opened their invites.
  • They have made improvements to the posting menu, and added the ability to edit your profile on-the-go.
  • There is now animated GIF support.
  • The new update also includes a lock screen widget for Android 4.2.
  • They added a new "mood" style post with a wide range of emotions.
  • You can now see Birthday notifications through cards on Google Now. This includes G+ links to wish the person a happy birthday.
These are only some of the enhancements, so feel free to check out the GooglePlusProject source link below for more info. The update isn't quite out yet, but is expected to hit sometime later today. Sound off in this thread when you guys see it.

A few ppl I know use it including myself, but it's nowhere near as popular as Facebook, so Facebook is still my main social app.especially since most of my friends and family sill use it.

End of Line.

Do people even use Google+??

I tried it for a while but just couldn't get into it. Then they started combining this with that, folders that can't be deleted started showing up in my gallery, syncs checked themselves in my settings after an update, etc etc and I ended up deleting the app on my Tab and phone and freezing it on my Nexus7.

The unremovable folders in my gallery is about my only real gripe about the app.

End of Line.

Get on the web and head into Picasa. Once there you can log in using your Google credentials and you can delete the unwanted folders there. I have done it a couple of times to remove them.

Not to be argumentative but when the + update happened and all the things I described above went along with it I felt like I was back on iTunes and things like that are a big part of why I left iTunes and Apple. Yes I was able to delete them and unsync the ones that auto synced but I shouldn't have had to or at least should've been warned my battery life would drop to nothing until I discovered what caused the sudden drop. Now Google has combined everything into their giant arsenal of deciding what I should search for, what I like, etc and beyond the iTunes mentality of that the tin foil hat wearer in me isn't cool with that since they so openly have agreed to be a snitch for big brother via the patriot act as their reasoning. I'm not a terrorist but with the government turning upside down every day I'm not ok with what the next regimes definition of what a terrorist may turn out to be. Who knows if my searches for truth in this land may end up causing black helicopters over my house and my kids being listed on some watch list because I'm their dad with a thirst for knowledge only.
