I am getting cheated out of a G-Nex

I have an OG Droid that is out of memory and is running slowly (got it in March 2010). And is only 3G. So I started looking into a new phone since my upgrade is coming up (so I thought). I learned of the Rezound, Bionic, RAZR and then I heard of the Nexus. I started reading up on them and narrowed it down to Nexus and Rezound. Once I finally decided on the Nexus, I figured I can deal with my phone until the Nexus comes out. I am on a family plan on verizon. I went on the verizon site to check to see when I was available for an upgrad.....Mach 2013!!! I remembered that my sister stole my upgrade to get an iphone after 4 months of using a blackberry. So if I steal my mom's or brothers upgrade the soonest I can get a new phone is July 2012.

Well maybe the Nexus will be release by then, lol. Im sure something better will be out then though. I reset my OG droid this morning to see if will make a difference. If not I might buy a droid 2 on ebay to tide me over.

In the same boat, technically can't upgrade til July 2012 too.

However, the rest of my family upgraded to iphones recently, so did a little talking and the guy who helped us said maybe I can upgrade on 11/25 after he pulls some strings. I'm definitely going to the store once the Nexus drops, hopefully I can upgrade, if not, guess I'm dishing out alot of cash that day....

Same boat here guys. 6/12 is my earliest upgrade. I'm hoping they'll let me slide!

Same. Been on top of every monthly bill and I even told our sales guy I convinced my parents to get iPhones over dumbphones....maybe that'll help my case:p

Man I feel for ya, I was told I had an early update, then I was not, and lastly I was told that a note was attached to my account saying that,
"I am due an early update and I am also not allowed a early update."

blink, blink, sounds like the Federal government. They did offer a Moto Citrus for $79, oh joy.

The one advantage to all this is I've got time to see what pans out, does the Bionic ever get it's OTA?
Is the Razr or Rezound the phone to get?
Will the G nex be the "God Phone"?

While I wait I had to get my old guy working so I,,,

Factory reset and installed Go launcher Ex and it has made my OG Droid almost fun again.

I left Verizon a while back for the iPhone. When I ported back my wife's phone was primary and I never got it switched. So now she is due the early upgrade and I am not scheduled til February. So naturally I have to turn on the charm to take her upgrade. Boy is she milking it.

When the G-Nex is out, I will go into a store and beg and plead. I would be eligible in December 2011 if it want for my sister stealing my upgrade.

I'm not feelin' very sorry for any of you! I bought my OG the day it dropped! Verizon is on a 20 month upgrade, so I've been sitting on my Upgrade since JULY!
First, I waited for the Bionic to drop, then fell for the Nexus trap, and now I'm in the waiting room at Verizon Central from now ON!!! I tell you all, it's a plot to get us NOT to use our upgrade and keep the old phones longer.... Simply put, logic fails me when dealing with Verizon.

Eh I cheated, I used my dad's upgrade (primary line).

But cmon you gonna give 3 out of 4 upgrades and leave me hanging? Cmon I'm a loyal Verizon customer now

Verizon let me slide 4 months so I can get my bionic. Just call them up until someone let's you upgrade

Seems like if you find the right person you'll be able to work your way into an early upgrade. I'm actually surprised they don't just give you what you want if you're within a year of signing a new contract, the entire point is to keep you on contract.

A lot of people here will tell you to explain you'll be leaving verizon if you don't get the upgrade price, but that always felt shady to me since you don't really have any intentions of leaving. I think the non-contract prices are ridiculous anyways, so I say do what you have to do to get your Nexus.

For my situation it would normally be the end of my 2yr contract, but since I used an early upgrade last year at this time, technically I'm out of luck. Gotta weasel my way to a Nexus.

As for threatening to leave the company, I can't imagine saying such a lie just to get what I want. Especially with Verizon which has treated me so well.

Like I said, I don't agree with the method I mentioned, but I've seen people suggest it from past experiences.

Although I wouldn't say Verizon has been "good" to me, their prices are still pretty hard to swallow all things considered. Once the 4G network is a bit more solid, the prices will definitely be worth it though. Hopefully they get these 3g->4g connection drops worked out before the Nexus drops.

The one thing I like about Verizon is they seem to really be putting a lot of their profits into improving their network, constantly seeing more and more 4G areas is a great sign of things to come. That's something you really don't see any other company doing right now.

I wish someone could explain Verizon's upgrade policy. I bought a TBolt in May and am already counting down the days until I can upgrade. When I called VZ about something else, I asked the rep to see when the earliest I could upgrade was, and she said Jan 2013! I hope so, but why aren't they making me wait til May?

I really don't want to steal anyone elses upgrade on my family plan, for reasons you just mentioned, even though my brother will NEVER upgrade until his flip phone completely falls apart. What happens if I lose my phone or someone elses phone breaks? *Sigh* a phone should last you two years anyway....

Verizon has a 20 month upgrade cycle, not a 24 month.
