I can't access my text messages on my Droid Charge. Please help!

Every time I try to access my text messages (old and new) I get the same message that says: "Sorry! The application Messaging (process com.android.mms) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."

Has anyone else ever had this problem? Please help me! :\
