So Amazon is having a 111 price for their Droid Razr phones.

What is stopping you from getting a new line and new Razr then paying the 200 dollar cancellation fee?

It would still be far cheaper than buying the phone without a contract.

In light of new evidence I revise my previous statement to "I don't think it wouldn't work but it would probably not be beneficial."

that's the "catch" with Amazon, they have their own ETF on top of Verizon's... it's more lenient, but it's there

Yeah you save a bit of money, but is all that really worth the $50 (after taxes, buying retail) you'd save? Rather just pay full retail than spend time sorting everything out, by the time you can get your cheaper Razr going you've put maybe an hour or two into canceling an account, getting the new line hooked up, waiting for the phone to arrive, and then activating it.
