I lost all my contacts! Can someone help me???

I purchased a new car yesterday and it has bluetooth. The salesman helped me pair my droid x to get it working. It works great but today I noticed I have no contacts! I have no clue what to do. I tried using the backup assistant with no luck. Any suggestions?
