Hello everyone, my phone is still under the original factory warranty I have with Verizon, however, the warranty is coming to an end and I would like to take advantage of it as I will be having this phone for another year or two.

I currently have the Droid X, and does anyone know how I can get a replacement without voiding the warranty? I know when I call them they will ask me what the problem is. I could tell them anything, however, do they check what I tell them or do they just reset the phone and see if that fixes the problem? If someone works for Verizon and could answer that question for me it would be greatly appreciated.

The next question I have is for everyone; does anyone know of a way I can "break" my phone without voiding the warranty?

Any advice would be great, and thanks for your help.

So your trying to fool verizon, by "breaking" your phone so you can get a new one?? If there is no problem with your current phone, why bother..

Well besides being morally wrong.. isn't that fraud?

Does your warranty cover broken screens?

i sure hope not, and if it is, disregard this question or delete this threat. I don't want to do anything illegal.

Yep. And we don't allow any discussion about that here at DF.
