I need help getting BACK to stock 2.1

I just dont understand the rootzwiki instructions:

Windows Instructions:
  1. Download RSD Lite (credit to MyDroidWorld)
  2. Install the RSDLite 4.7 program by double clicking on the program.
  3. Move the pst_flash.ini file into the following folder --> Program Files/Motorola/RSDLite
  4. Install the drivers that apply to your Operating System.
  5. Unzip the SBF into a folder. (Download Above)
  6. Open RSD Lite and find the UNZIPPED SBF
  7. Put your Motorola Droid X into bootloader. (turn phone off and hold volume down and the camera button while pressing the power button)
  8. Click start and sit back.
Note: after the flash will need to boot into recovery (hold volume down and the home button) and wipe data and cache.

Item 3, what is this pst_flash file? Do they mean the SBF file that i downloaded from the same webpage that downloaded to my desktop as "the_gift.zip"?

Item 4, where do i get the drivers from?

Someone kindly lend a hand? IDK about anyone else but my copy of the leaked froyo has a few issues that i had detailed in another thread and i just want my stock X back :(

Tons of threads on this. U don't even mention which part u don't understand. Do u expect someone to rewrite those instructions for u??? I hope not.

I would see if u have a friend or family that can help u out. Flashing the SBF is extremely easy, and those directions are top notch and easy to understand.

If u r having issues with 2.2, u r supposed to do a factory reset- ->> wipe data/cache to fix the problems

Those are my questions and no I didn't ask anyone to rewrite the instructions. Simply asked that people answer my questions. No need to patronize me. I have since answered the above questions but now I have another: is the SBF file the one titled "the_gift.zip"?

Here's the news. You can't.go back to stock 2.1. Even if you get there you would just get prompted to.upgrade.

The only thing you can do is either root or fix whatever is bugging you on 2.2.

Wait why would I get prompted to upgrade? People on this forum have said they've gone back to 2.1 and there are instructions to do so...

And I would love to fix what's bugging me but nobody else has said they are experiencing the problems I have. Has anyone had a problem with the leaked froyo where their text inbox is out of order? Or scrolling on webpages is just too sensitive?

Hook, he is on the Droid X and there is not an upgrade yet for it. He has installed the leaked 2.2 update and wants to go back to stock. The instructions he mentioned are to do just that.

Item 3? - When you extract the "RDSlite4.7+patch.zip" there are two files. One is "rdslite_47.msi". Double click on this file to install RDSLite. The second file is "pst_flash.ini". This is the "patch" and what the instructions in step 3 are referring two. When you copy it to the "Program Files/Motorola/RSDLite" folder it will replace a file of the same name that was installed previously.

Item 4? - Unzip "thegift.Zip" file. It contains three zip files. Two are drivers 32 bit and 64 bit. The third zip files contain the stock sbf file. You will need to extra and install the appropriate drives(step 4). The instructions should also say reboot you PC after installing the drivers. After that extract the sbf file from the third zip and follow the instructions to flash with RDSlite(step 6).

The instructions are pretty basic and assume you have a knowledge of zip files, drivers, PC's and flashing hardware with new firmware. If not, I'd suggest you find someone with this knowledge to help you.

I'd also suggest doing a factory rest before and after flashing the sbf file.

Yes, this, including mine, is the 3rd thread about this in 3 days, and Ill tell you that if you factory reset your already upgraded to 2.2 phone it should fix your issues. It fixed all of mine! I did it last night and now my phone is working flawlessly.

Well, my bad. I sometimes forget to look at what forum I'm in. He'll be fine until the real update comes I suppose.

Thank you Specmac.

I will say this again...the issues I have with the leaked froyo are: my text message inbox displays the conversations totally out of order, they're neithr in order of time or alphabetically by contact. The other issue is that the text wrap on the browser is not staying secure around the text. In other words on 2.1 when I would fit the screen around the text on a website I could scroll up and down and if I happened to scroll it slightly to th left or right it would stay on the text and not veer off to the direction I slightly scrolled towards.

I just want to know if anyone else has experienced these problems. I have tried a factory reset and wiped data/cache several times with zero results.
