i need urgent help about droid

hey guys I am on page plus unlimited talk n text i was searching for infromation how to disable verizon data (i only have 20mb)

so i found this

[*]Press Phone infomation
[*]Scroll down untill you see "Set preferred network type:"
[*]Press "CMDA auto (PRL)" and a list should pop up
[*]Select "CDMA only" in the list
[*]Return to the Home screen by pressing the Home button

now my droid shows "1x" instead of 3g I heard that CDMA is free internet but its really really slow. Is the 1X icon really the free internet that is really slow from verizon? thanks!

I am under the impression that you have to have the soon-to-be-extinct unlimited data plan when you have a Droid.

Hey thanks for quick reply well from what I've been reading its CDN or i think the whole name is CDMA.

Speed 40-60kps, burst 144 kps

Anyway if this is not it then I just disabled background data what else I can do so that the droid wont be using internet unless I am in wi-fi area? I tried all those widgets but the only work with GSM phones. Thank you

this is why I am trying to find out a way to limit internet usage

Go to Settings>Accounts & Sync> Uncheck Background Data.

localle

i tried it did not like localle seemed to slow down my phone but you can set it to do this.
lite settings is free(free version anyways) that might do this also

what do you mean by lite settings is free ?

EDIT: I figured it out!

1. In dialer
*#*#INFO#*#*
2. Go to phone information
then press menu button
3. Click on more
4. Disable Data On Boot

for any pageplus users this is a must have!
