Icons & homescreens customization (Noob questions)

I am looking for an app that will allow me to change my Icons and customize my homescreen.

Phone: Moto Droid

Currently running: LauncherPro (qq it keeps force closing) I really like that I can put my icons 5 high and the bottom bar thingy that you can change.

What I want: To change my folder Icons (and others if possible).

I've heard of BetterCut, but some of the comments said it did not work with LauncherPro. True/False? I'm not totally against dumping LauncherPro if there is something else I like. What are some applications that will let me change the icons? If I were to get Beautiful Widgets and something to change the icons, What other benefits are there to homescreen apps? Adding extra screens is awesome, but is that it?

LauncherPro doesn't let me change icons though.... unless I am just missing that option.

folder organizer is very good. in the app itself, it shows how to use it. i also use it with LP. works great

I use FolderOrganizer and Launcher Pro together and I think my setup looks awesome.
