Icons on Home screen?

Is there anyway to cut the space down between icons on a home screen? I want to stack some closer together on top of each other. I want them more compact if possible.

I used that one with no problems, granted not for very long though. here is one that is a bit different, but same idea. I had mor problems with bugginess on this one though, so YMMV.
