ICS coming to Rez this coming Friday?

I was roaming around my local Best Buy tonight and happened by the smart phone section. I mentioned ICS to one of the sales guys and they ALL insisted they got emails from higher ups saying ICS will definitely be pushed to the Rez this coming Friday. They all seemed very definite about it. But, who knows. Considering all the rumors that preceded the GingerBread release, well, who knows. If so, it'll be nice. If not, who cares. It'll happen when it happens.

I just pulled the trigger, buying a Rezound on Verizonwireless.com due to their current sale.

One of the contract features listed was "OTA update". Take it as you will... but that sure sounds like there's an impending update coming!

The OTA update "feature" just means that your phone CAN be updated OTA versus having to bring it in the store for an upgrade or install from a PC...Seems so antiquated at this point. On the impending OTA, honestly I think we'd have a bit more from Verizon/HTC. I'd personally never trust information from a third party like BestBuy. Since we were told we'd get ICS Q1, that could be the Q1 cut-off for their system....you never know.

Hmm... are you certain? The reason it struck me was that, just the other day, I walked my dad through the online purchase of a Droid Charge -- and it had no such notation...

(Moreover, it was a "new" feature, not one that was listed as present on my OG Droid; so, it really seemed that it was speaking to something coming up...!)

Yes, OTA is fairly standard for Android devices. I had the charge, which my son now has and all if its updates are OTA. I think for the Razr, rezound, etc... What they are pushing is not so much that it is OTA capable but that it is ICS ready and capable.

That was one of the "features" listed on mine when I got it in December.

Alright so there is no official date for ics, its been slated for within the next few months but it will most likely be end of may

Ics is ready for the rezound when it gets pushed is up to vzw. Vzw is known to hold on to updates especially if they have a new feature phone they want to push.
