Confusing title probably sorry.
I don't live in a Verizon area, but I get service from a local provider tower.

My razr maxx kept telling me that I had an update available (ics) I didn't take it since I was rooted.
Then I clicked update while I was in a Verizon area- I just wanted to download the update. It failed of course (rooted).

Now I've used Matts utility to unroot, but I don't have verizon service here.
Is there some way I can get the phone to re-try the update with the downloaded files?

My "system updates" menu doesn't work for that.

Have you tried checking for system updates while on WiFi? It should work on WiFi. Not sure where, but it seems like I've read somewhere that it might take up to 24 hours before it shows up again.
