Im a newborn to the Droid

Hello, I just got the Droid X, and I know a lil bit about it, I know that the Froyo os is comming for it soon, but I dont know how to get that on my phone, or anything about rooting it or bloating it.. Pleas help a brother out thanks Droid Family

Welcome! Good to have you. I have a rooted Droid so my experiences and process are a little different. Check out the FAQ and hacking (first sticky discusses rooting) in the Forum (tab above).

Hello and welcome to the forums!!

When the OTA is officially released, you will receive a popup notification that you have a "software update" - just click to allow and the phone basically does the rest...

As Mike indicated, if you choose to root and install a leaked version - read thru the various threads in the Hack area - they provide some good insight and steps...

and if you want a leaked 2.2, you can use Rom Manager
