IMAP account won't update

I've set up an IMAP account for my E-mail system at work. It's a GroupWise system. The account does refresh with new mail right after I power off my phone and then power on again, but after a short time it stops doing that and only shows me new mail when I "go into" the account and hit refresh. I've experimented with different refresh times, from 5 minutes on up, but nothing seems to help. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I assume your using the stock email client? Have you tried K9 email instead? IMO it's leaps and bounds ahead of the stock one. Might fix the problem your having and it's free! If you want to give it a shot I suggest getting the latest version off of their website (2.902 at the moment). I think the latest the market has is 2.800.
