In Call Volume To Quite

Hi everyone,
I have the in-call volume all the way up but I can barley hear the other person on the other end. I don't think its the phone. Could it be because I have a clear protective cover over it? If so, where is the ear piece on the front of the phone?

Every once in a while, my earpiece volume is really soft. I've found if I put the call on speaker phone and take it right back off, the earpiece volume is fine. Not sure why it does it... and it's extremely random.

I am having the same problem. At first the earpiece sounded like it was blown out and I had to turn it down 2 notches to sound okay. Now even when it's turned up all of the way I can barely hear anything. The phone is docked in my car everyday and I listen to Pandora Radio via a 3.5mm stereo cable to my Kenwood cd player.

The speaker phone trick did not work for me as well as everything else so far I have read to test.
