Internet Connection Mode Needed for Easytether or PDAnet tethering?

I want to tether my htc rezound to use its connection on my computers, do i need to set it as internet connection mode, or can i just leave it charge only, and pdanet or easy tether will do what needs to be done? I only have unlimited plan, not tethered plan.

Use either the charge only or disk drive. I use easy tether and it works great!!
