Is Google getting over on the trade-ins?

Was reading an article from droidlife about people getting shorted on their trade-ins and I'm curious how many people have had good or bad experiences with this.

Personally I never liked those programs because you don't ever get true value. And if this article is correct, looks like people are not even getting what was quoted to them.

I was reading about this earlier. one thing to note, even though it looked like google was ripping off some folks, it was not near as bad as samsung.
