i've had this phone only 2 days, but i've used it multiple times in my car and i usually just shuffle until i get songs i like.
now, i love how it looks and the interface is soooo much better than the droid's music player,

but, i have 1,400 songs and i've noticed when it shuffles them all it plays songs from the same albums right after each other. it will play one artist like 3 out of 5 songs! and out of like 20 songs 16ish of them will be from 2 or 3 albums. (ive noticed this every time ive used it, like 6 seperate times)

does anyone else think it shuffles very poorly?
i love how it looks and interacts, but this is a problem for me. :(

thanks

maybe its just me then, but it seems like it doesnt shuffle them very well. i dont know why mine does this if other people dont have a problem

I think that this happens even when I use my Mac and iTunes on shuffle. It's almost like my Mac has decided it has taken a like for certain music and what's really weird, or so it seems to me is that it seems to like the same groups.

Sound familiar?

I don't tink shuffle is bad. Just sometimes it doesn't shuffle quite like we want it to. ;)

It's that way for me, too. I'll put it on shuffle, and it'll still play alphabetically by song title.

Yup, I have the same problem. I have even tried switching to doubleTwist player (I found the HTC player a little laggy...) and it seems to be a little bit better. However, songs that have already played in shuffle are put back in the mix!! Needs to be more like an iPod whereas once a song is played, it will not show up again! That bothers me to no end lol

The Android player has two shuffle modes: shuffle and party shuffle. And it is next to impossible to navigate that horrid player, and you have to navigate constantly because of its poor design. Like if you select a different song, then you are no longer in shuffle mode - not a huge deal if it didn't require two hands and 17 presses to get that turned back on (shuffle, not party shuffle). And if a song comes up on random and you want to go to another song on that SAME album? No problem, just 17 more button presses. DOH!

I use "cubed" (^3) music player. The UI is actually useful and rather intuitive - plus it is cool to flip thru the cube. Though any of the popular players are great.

That being said, shuffle never quite seems random to me either - the same albums come up too often, it seems. I leave my deactivated Inc in my car as my mp3 player - that is all I listen to when in the car.

Yeah, I was hoping I could consolidate everything into just my DINC, but it looks like I will need to hang onto my iPod Touch for music playing

You can. Just don't use the Android player.
Any of the other popular players are as good as or better than the ipod player.
