Is it possible for make my phone number display as PRIVATE on caller ID?

I've heard that it's possible to make my phone number appear as PRIVATE for an individual call (not show on their caller ID or cell phone screen) by pressing a few numbers before I dial their number.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Or do I have to call verizon and pay to have this service activated?

I believe *67 before the number doed that.

If you want this for all of your calls, you can change your "features" on Verizonwireless.com to "Caller ID Blocking." There's no charge for this, at least with my account. The downside is that you need to add *82 before phone numbers when you want your caller ID to show. This is necessary to get "in network" calls for free.
