Is Lookout Security App Safe

I am having problems with my Thunderbolt screen not waking up from sleep. Verizon tech told me to try removing Lookout Security. She said it is a known problem app, it is no good for the phone, known to have a lot of issues and I don't need a security app. She said I am on a very secure network and there is no need for any type of security app.

Does anyone agree with this?

Never had the need for an "anti-virus" app on any of my android phones. Only thing that app is good for would be the locating feature. But then again, there's plenty of apps that would do the same.

I say, get rid of it.

There are malicious Apps out there and Lookout has caught them for me. I have had no issues with lookout and have had it on every one of my phones since my OG Droid.
