now that i've imported all my contacts, there are too many of them to scroll through. I'd like to organize them, rate them in terms of priority, or put them in folders (family, biz, etc), separate frequently-called from seldom-called, etc.

any good apps out there that will do this?

thanks!

Hey that would be really handy instead of creating tons of folders

type in "contacts" in the app market search... a few show up.

first one on the list is "Contacts GroupU".... probably a few others that are similar but maybe thats something decent.

Pretty lame selection. Contacts GroupU would be fine if it allowed contacts to be removed from groups and entire groups to be removed as well. Right now, when you try to do these things, a message pops up saying they've been removed, but nothing has happened. I hope this gets fixed soon, and that other contact apps start showing up.

Thanks!

If your need for an app is related to the fact that it's difficult to navigate through them all to find the person you want to contact, don't forget that this phone features a great "Voice Calling" functionality. You can search for anyone on the phone.

contacts keyboard

Is there anyway of having the on-screen keyboard come up when in contacts list. Benefit being not having to scroll through every contact. I know of the voice search but this feature is necessary. Similar to BB when you can press keys to bring up the corresponding contact letter.:icon_eek:

Just hit the search button on bottom right of screen, brings up keyboard, type first couple letters of name...problem solved.

I too was looking at ways to organize my Droid contacts (and other things). What has happened on computers is now happening on devices. Search. I am learning that the most useful capability of an Android phone is the ability to search the whole phone.

The only time I need to hunt for things is when i want to run an application that I have not put on my homescreen.

if you create/organize/deletecontact in google.com/contacts the contact groupU works great and shows all yur folders exactly how you made them. :D

EDIT: Contacts GroupU sucks

Lately everytime i add a shortcut to favs then pick one .... it force closes.

i downloaded acontacts even though it said there's bugs in droid. when i opened it there was a notification of alot of fixes for droid. it is the nicest contact app i've seen and i've paid for 4 and dl'd more.
