issue with ending phone calls

hey, not sure if this was mentioned anywhere but i didnt see it posted. im occassionally to frequently having an issue where when i finish a phone call and pull the phone from my ear the sceen will illuminate for a second and then go black again. this isnt giving me enough time to press the end button to terminate the call. is anyone esle having this problem and/or know a solution for it?

Pull out the battery. Hold down the power button for a few seconds then put the battery back in and power on the phone. It shouldn't have that issue any more.
