Issue with updating Superuser...help needed

I have a razr max running JB on the Verizon network. I've recently run into issues with using my phone as a hotspot. So I wanted to change the entitlement to see if that would address the issue. I then discovered that my us binary was out of date, and ran into the following issue:

I went into Superuser to update the SU binary, the program ran and all steps came back "okay" until the final step: the final step "Make Sure New SU works"....fail! I've retried updating the SU multiple times with the same end result each time. Any thoughts on why this is happening?


The message that flashes before the "fail" is "super user has been denied superuser permissions.

This is starting to become very frustrating

Can't help you there, but you might try running "SuperSU" instead, as that's how I'm currently getting root.
