Issues with adding my social account

I recently got a Droid 2 Global, i actually have 2 questions in one.

First Question: I added my facebook account to the phone when i first received it but i ended up removing the account to stop it from syncing because i would never look at the thread updates. Now i want to readd the account so i have all of my facebook friends added back to my contacts. But the problem is whenever i try to add it i get an error message, Any ideas as to why it won't work now? (p.s. I'm running the facebook "app" on my phone but i was having this problem before i downloaded the app)

Secondly: I have an otterbox case on my phone right now, but it isn't very sturdy (little disappoint after the 38 bucks i shelled out), I was wondering if anybody was satisfied with their bodyglove case? or if somebody had one that they felt was giving them good protection with.

I would suggest that you do a factory reset on the device and make sure you back up any data you dont want to lose, if you're rooted look in the forums for safely doing this as I do not root my phone. This is just my educated quest. If unrooted, then after the factory reset, you will have to resign in your gmail account and reload all of your apps and see if that doesn't solve the problem.

As far as the cases, make sure once again you browse through the forum on this device about the case and you always have the option to return the case if its within the warranty at a Verizon store and get the right case. I know there are several threads about cases in this section of the forum. If this doesn't help ask the section of the tech issues of droid 2 which covers all droid 2 types and see if you can get some pointers there. Good luck and hope this helps.
