issues with wireless tether post root droid razr maxx

hey guys just got a chance to root my droid razr maxx.. the root went well but when i installed the wireless tether my labtop would not get an internet connection i am noticing the oem mobile hotspot is popping up and asking me to subscribe for 30 dollars a month.. is there something i need to delete or bypass? how can i get my tether working correctly?
