I normally would just root it, but I won't be having my laptop for awhile. Is there a way I can get jelly bean on my nexus without a root? Thanks for all input

If you want JB without rooting you're going to have to wait for the source to drop for verizon's version. I've heard it's supposed to come within 2 weeks so maybe we'll see something soon.
As for doing any of this without a PC, I'm not sure, but I haven't heard of anyone not using a computer to do it.
I don't think Verizon will have the update out in two weeks. Two months perhaps. I hope they do too, but Verizon isn't exactly known for speedy releases for updates or releases.
It will not be two weeks - that's just crazy talk. GSM Galaxy Nexus owners will get it in two weeks and the source will become available at that time as well.
Best we can hope for is early August, but that's seriously pushing it. Based on Verizon's testing procedures, I'd bet money on late September/early October at best.
Luckily developers will have fully functioning roms the same day that the source drops.
As far as carriers go, getting official software pushed to devices will go something like this:
The rest of the world: GSM Nexus - will get update first (on or around July 15th)
AT&T: GSM Nexus - will get update first (on or around July 15th)
T-Mobile: GSM Nexus - will get update first (on or around July 15th)
Sprint: CDMA Nexus - no eta (most likely 1-3 months late)
Verizon: CDMA Nexus - no eta (most likely 1-6 months late)
