For those of us who change batteries we have experienced the anxiety of watching our phone sit at the google screen for what seems like 5 mins. I stumbled upon a solution by accident and had galaxy nexus forum rs and mods test it. Thanks to chip (C. dippa) we even was able to cut down a step.
By the way did this with twrp but should work with cwr as well
1) After you swap out batteries boot into recovery immediately. (Power + vol up + volume down , this will take you to the bootloader screen use the volume key to scroll to recovery and power to select).
2) In recovery click reboot system.
We found that it cuts the boot time down to where it was (if not quicker) before the jb roms.
