JIM TOMSULA, REALLY?

Who's got it better than us?
EVERYBODY!!!!
When they said they wanted to move on from Jim Harbaugh I was not too happy but then felt somewhat relieved when rumors of Mike Shanahan was in the picture. I am not trying to to say Mike would have been a better coach but I understood going that route being Mike was part of the Bill Walsh tree so it may have been the York's way of bringing in someone who understood the 9er way. But then I hear that the niners hired Jim Tomsula and the first thing I said was "who". Seriously they cut bait with Harbaugh to hire a d-line coach, this screams of wanting a puppet as a coach. I will continue to bleed red and gold but niner fans I think our championship flags and banners will be stuffed in the back of the closet for at least the next 3 to 4 years. I hope I am wrong but I sadly know that I am right. This just sucks that York and Baalke are unable to put their pride on the back burner in order to win. I just feel like Jim Tomsula was a hand picked puppet who would fall in line versus actually have a plan. Don't get me wrong I am not saying Harbaugh's stubbornness to stick with Greg Roman helped us any but if you are going to can a coach who took us to 4 championship games and 5 yards away from winning the Superbowl you had better at least give us someone we can rally behind.

Am I overreacting?

Niner fans, football fans, anyone is it over.....is this the end of being relevant?

Are we doomed to Raider and Jacksonville land?

:(

I know he's no Harbaugh, but I have to see the first several games with Tomusla at the helm before I pass judgement. Ya never know. He and his new staff just might be what we need.

Rumor has it that Mike Shanahan and Lane Kiffin are candidates for OC?

Dud York just wanted Harbaugh and anyone who believed in Harbaugh out of the office, they did it. I think it was a fairly smart move on their part because it does keep a familiar face around. Plus I don't think there was a coach available out there outside of the Niner circle that could be as good a fit. Though the thought of Rex Ryan coaching the Niners would've made for some fun :P

Players will rally behind Tomsula I think, and the Front office already does, though he could be just a puppet, as you say. At least they quickly filled the vacancy and now Tomsula can start constructing a team of assistants.

Harbaugh was only a problem with the Owner and GM. I put alot of the blame on Greg Roman who strayed away from the run game and therefore took away 50% of what is Kaepernick's game. The run game always set Kap up for success. I still don't think Kap is the answer at QB, especially with Harbaugh gone, but glad to see Roman gone, that guy is highly highly overrated as an OC.

Rams and Niners fighting for the cellar the next few years.
It's good being a Seahawks fan right now.

Hope you are right bro.

He's a better pick than John Fox would have been for the 49ers. They need to clean house and get rid of the long in tooth players - which there are many. Also, the 49ers need to realize that Colin K is not the next great 49ers QB. He's average at best. Time to cut ties and move on with a new QB at the helm too.
