Just a simple boom mike and headset for Droid?

I have a bluetooth but don't talk enough to fool with turning it on, charging it, etc. I would like a nice quality ear piece with an extended boom mic that I can simply plug in quickly when I want to go hands free with my original Droid model.

I bought a Plantronics I think but it had the wrong mm plug so I bought an adapter converter 2.5/3.5 but it does not work. Therefore, I am open to just starting over.

Does anyone use or can they recommend a good old fashioned corded headset with the extended mic?

Does Plantronics not make a 3.5 headset with boom? You probably won't get many recommendations since many people prefer bluetooth.
