Keyboard crashes

Anyone ever have the problem of keyboard crashing? It's plagued my phone since I've owned it (Nov 11) an it seems to have gotten worse with the latest update.

I've tried the stock, swype, and SwiftKey. They all randomly crash, which makes me think it's the OS itself and not the keyboards.

I am assuming by the lack of replies that I am the only one having this issue.

I'd like to say my phone is faulty, but I am unsure of what kind of hardware fault could cause any software keyboard to intermittently fail.

If it were a software issue I would have assumed that it was patched a while ago.

No actually my phone at some point or another has crashed with KBs. I didn't use the stock one so don't know about it but swiftkey and ICS both crash from time to time or get slow and buggy, will force close when u got a paragraph and so on, real annoying actually. I hope the stock ICS KB on ICS does good and doesn't crash, to me its the best KB hands down.

While I haven't had the problem (at least not yet) I have a couple of questions to the OP.

!) Are you rooted?
2) Are you using a launcher?

Not the OP obviously but I have Go Launcher ever since the beginning, not rooted. U thank that has something to do with it? The KB acts up sometimes but not to much, still annoying.

Some apps don't play well with others. I ask those questions in hope that the answers will help others in finding an answer. Something isn't working, fine, let's take a look at anything that's been done to customize in hopes that that is causing the problem. The more knowledge the better for diagnosis.

I never got around to rooting my phone and I am not using a custom launcher.

I also tend to be very picky about what goes on my phone so I do not download very many apps.

I noticed that when the keyboard becomes unstable, switching keyboards seems to alleviate the problem for a bit. However, the issue inevitably returns regardless of the keyboard I'm using.

I initially suspected that it was text suggest that was causing it, but I've turned it off on the stock keyboard and it *still* crashed. I'm baffled as to what it could be, really.

Keep in mind, it doesn't happen a lot. But when it does, it happens at the seemingly worst possible time.

Does this happen only with texts or other input?

If it's only during texts, which text app are you using?

Although it's not my phone, when I'm using FF on Windows 7 on this site only, if I try to do an italic by going backwards on the word it sometimes crashes FF. Just showing when programs don't play together.

I am using the stock sms messaging app on the phone which the keyboard crashes with. I also use tweak deck for twitter, Gmail, jota text editor, among some other apps.

Whenever there is input, my keyboards have crashed with them. I've actually started typing messages into the jota text editor so I can quickly save in case the keyboard crashes.

I usually have sound turned on for the keyboards and I did notice that the sound will change on occasion, but the keyboard is still functioning. I wonder if that is related to my issue.
