keyboard lag?

Anyone having trouble with the keyboard lagging? Sometimes the output takes a while to keep up with the typing. I'm on stock ICS 4.0.2 using the Android keyboard. I also have Smart Keyboard Pro but am enjoying the new Android keyboard. Any suggestions?

I just noticed this issue and came here first to see if anyone else was experiencing it too. The recommended fix does indeed work!

Head into Settings>Language & input> and uncheck the box for “Spelling correction.”
