Kickstand

I posted this in another thread but no one has answered. I went to 2 Verizon stores yesterday to ask about the Thunderbolt. All of the demo phones had broken kickstands. Is this a demo phone problem or are the kickstands really that breakable? Do any of the other models with the kickstands have sturdier ones?

At one Verizon kiosk, the guy working there said he broke it but then he started talking to another customer so I couldn't ask him how he had broken it. It is a very nice sized phone and felt "heavy"/sturdy.....but the kickstand was broken and that kinda worries me. (At the other Verizon, they were too busy to care why I was asking about the kickstand LOL)

While I don't have a solid answer for you; it does seam to be "beefier" than the EVO kickstand. I'd say if the EVO kickstand is ok, this one should be better?

I've wondered about the kickstand as well. It seems to me that anything that "sticks out" has the potential to break or losen.

I saw the demo on Friday night and was a bit concerned about the kickstand myself.

This is probably a dumb question. I'm sorry if it has already been asked. Do you think the kickstand will be sturdy? I'm worried about it not being able to stay closed after a lot of use.

My worst nightmare would be if the kickstand either breaks off or wont close. Crap Kickstand = Deal breaker. But HTC seems to know what theyre doing

I have the same concern. I'm looking forward to a hands on test drive.

People with the evo 4g seem to not have any issues with it. It is mounted flush, and if you put a case on it, it will be recessed. Supposedly it has a nice click in/out, and stays put unless you intentionally move it.
