Knowing which theme to install...

I've installed the latest release of Squidly's custom rom. But I can't seem to wrap my mind around what kind of theme would be compatible with the rom and on that note, I wasn't even aware that there were anything beyond 2.2.

Man, I'm confused. I figured I was done being confused after I installed Squidly but eh. I appreciate any feedback anyways.

There are themes in squidlys section, most if not all by now are compatible with full install instructions as well as screenshots of the different themes. A theme will change anything from your phone dialer, notification bar, app icons, ect. Just be sure to make a nandroid backup of your current setup and you will always be ok. Its extremely hard to permanently damage your phone by themeing. So if you install a theme and dont like it, try another one or restore your backup.
